Hi there, I'm Sofia
I'm a project manager and a parent, living abroad as an expat in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn't in our long-range plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and many lessons learned on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began constructing something that felt steady.
Why I Built SerNavTenNorv
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that divide — practical advice drawn from real life in Portugal.
What This Site Is About (And What It Isn’t)
This site is
- Real-world insights from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is not:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking forward
Our stay in Portugal goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I will keep sharing what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, don’t hesitate to contact me.
